This is another very whimsical card in honor of Halloween. The mixture of patterns and colors add a sense of fun to this versatile card. This is my Witch’s Hat Card and was inspired by my love of Halloween, my fondness for Halloween witches, and the myriad of decorations popping up everywhere. For this card, I started sketching out the witch’s hat. Once happy with it, I cut it out of plain computer paper and used it as a template to trace around onto the black/white plaid paper. I used plain white cardstock, and cut and scored to make a 5 1/2”x 4” landscape card. Having the plain card ready, I took the spider web3 paper and cut a 3 1/2” x 4” piece and adhered it to the right side of the card. Next, I took the TLC Trick or Treat Varsity Plaid paper and cut a 2” x 4” strip and adhered this to the left side of the card, slightly overlapping the spider web paper. The Charcoal chalk ink was then used to ink around all edges of the card. Once this dried, I also went over it lightly with the Wisteria ink to add a bit more color. I traced the hat and cut it from the StoryTellers black/white paper and also the bottom brim of the hat onto some SIAS black/swirl paper. After adhering the brim to the hat, I inked with the Wisteria chalk ink all around the hat. I then took a length of the orange/tan fiber and tied it around the base of the hat, just above the brim. I adhered the hat slightly off center of this card to allow the spider to show on the spider web paper. :) Tilting the hat allowed for this little accent to show up and to add to the fun and whimsy of this card. I hope you enjoy recreating a version of this card for yourself or friends. It would be suitable for any fun Halloween event.
