You may have overlooked a great scrapping tool that’s been (literally) right at your fingertips! If you’re reading this then you must have internet access and a computer. These will lead you to the best scrapping tool you could ever have… computer fonts. Just by choosing the right fonts, you can give your layouts and projects a more polished and coordinated look.
A quick GOOGLE search with key words “free fonts” will result in more than 12,500,000 websites listed. Even if there were only one font per site (which is definitely NOT the case), you are assured of seeing at the very least 12,500,000 fonts. Each font has its own personality, some of which are very evident by their names.
|Don't be fooled by the names, many fonts look great with other topics.|
Moreover, each font creator has worked hard to make his/her font look and “feel” unique. Why all the hard work? For your use, of course!
Take a look at how a simple phrase can take on a different feel in different font types:

You can see that “I love you” can evoke different emotions when typed in different fonts. The font you choose to use can emphasize the emotion you want to convey, or it can actually negate your words and show another completely different emotion.
Remember that no matter what the font, it is still your words that matter most. After you know what you want to write, match your font to your journaling mood… or better yet, match the overall mood you are trying to show on your layout. You’ll find that since you’ve already carefully chosen your colors, papers, and elements for a layout, the correct font in a title or for the journaling will do wonders to tie it all together.
Experiment with the fonts you already have on your computer, or search through the millions of free fonts available. Many sites offer free fonts for personal use and even have instructions on how to load them onto your computer. If you’re willing to pay, you will find many fonts available for sale, too. Have fun with fonts, but beware- like scrapping, font “collecting” can become very addictive!
