Using sizzix diecut letters for a title By Nancy Jones May 12, 2005, 20:27 |

I know a lot of us would love to spend a lot of time making hand made titles for our pages. But face it, in today’s society we are not just moms and wives, we are everything from carpool drivers to home medics, so who has time for that?
I’m going to show you a quick way to make a cute title using your Sizzix machine and those new cool little Sizzlits that are out.
First you want to select your paper. Cut it to no more than 2 inches wide so it will fit through the Sizzix machine.

Make sure you have the Sizzlit adapter on your Sizzix machine. It is like a huge magnet that sits under the top platform and pushes down on your die to make it cut. That way you don’t have to have 3 mats to make it work. They are approximately $14.00 each.
If you look at the Sizzlit you will see most have more than one option for the letter on it. You can cut all of those out or you can cut just a small square and cover just that particular letter to cut it out. I usually cut them all and save them for future use.

Place your die on the paper that is laid on top of the base block. I’m using the Boxed Brush Sizzlit die here in the photos.
Push your block, paper and Sizzlit all the way under the machine. Make sure it is all the way to the top or bottom not in the center when you pull the handle down. Sometimes it doesn't cut them all out if it is in the center so always go to one side.
Press the handle down and release. You may want to press the handle down a couple of times to make sure it cut all the way through.

Take out the paper and the die and see your cut letter. You can adhere it to your page many different ways. You can use an Xyron machine that puts the adhesive all over the back like a sticker or you can use a glue stick. Some people use pop dots to make the letters pop off the page.
You can use the actual cut out letter or you can use the paper it was cut out of as I did on this title. I used it both ways to make it eye catching.
