NO PICTURES? NO PROBLEM

Life is full of so many little moments and special memories that we would like to keep in our hearts and minds forever. Unfortunately we have not always been able to snap a picture in that moment. However as scrappers we have the ability to immortalize the memory in a scrapbook page. With little souvenirs, art, and words we are able to document these special memories and include them in our albums.
There are so many of us who think about something funny someone said or how that one friend we had in high school was so fun or even the different stages of our lives. We have dwelled on them and smiled about them, but we haven’t scrapped them because we have no pictures. Myself for example just completed a page about the first trip my husband and I ever took together back in 1999, but I had to think creatively because we weren’t the kind of people who took pictures at that stage in life. The solution for me was a postcard I bought as a souvenir. It was perfect because it had the name of the city on it and it will always remind us of where we’ve been. So dig out some of those movie stubs, brochures, and postcards and include them on your layout. This is also a great tip to keep in mind when you go to an event that doesn’t allow photography, collect what you can from the lobby or the gift store and you have endless possibilities for things to include in a layout.
Also pay close attention to the scrapbook accessory isle in your local craft store. With all the embellishments out there in the scrapbooking industry, you will find a number of things that will fit the theme of your layout. Stickers, buttons, metals, and so many more embellishments now come in such variety that there is hardly a shortage when it comes to fitting themes.
Lastly and perhaps what I rely on most, is simply let the words paint the picture for you. Instead of the usual who, what, when, where and why, fill the story with the small little details that made it so special you wanted it remembered. Words are a powerful tool for us scrappers and sometimes they need little else to accompany them to make a layout full and complete.

Like the title states: No picture? No problem. Don’t be afraid to scrap with out having any pictures, let your memories be recorded and have fun doing it.
