Wedding Keepsake box

wooden cigar box

Supplies

Supplies used:

Wooden cigar box
sand paper
white acrylic paint
foam brush
fabric material
tacky glue
wedding photo
(4) making memories "Twine" metal photo corners
glue dots
silk flowers
bead strands (I used 2 different size beads)
ribbons
hot glue gun
alphabet letter stickers (storytellers)
plastic wedding rings

Instructions:

1. Tear off any loose paper on the box. Sand rough edges and the surface of any remaining paper on the box.

2. Paint the entire box with white acrylic paint and let dry completely.

3. Cut material to fit the box and adhere it to the box with tacky glue. I spread out the glue with a popsicle stick and pressed the material down into the glue. Smooth out any wrinkles. Let dry completely.

4. Trim photo to desired size and attach to the top of the box. Use glue dots to attach the metal photo corners.

5. Use stickers to spell out “Jessica n Mike”. Since the stickers was applied to fabric, I used tacky glue to seal the stickers so they wouldn’t fall off. The glue is white but turns clear when dried. So be generous with the glue over the stickers.

6. Using the hot glue gun, glue the small bead strands to the lid. I did this while the lid is closed so I didn’t interfere with the lids ability to close. Hot glue the larger bead strands to the sides and the front.

7. Hot glue ribbon to lid.

8. Arrange the silk flowers in a small bouquet, tie with ribbon and plastic wedding rings. Hot glue it to the top of the ribbons.

9. Add small bouquet to the corner. Your altered box is finished.
