Wire Words with PSP8 and Blade Pro

For this tutorial you will require the filter Superbladepro by Flaming pear - you can download a trial version at http://www.flamingpear.com

The first thing to note is that you will need to use a font which is nice and loopy and has letters which join together if possible.

For this sample I have used CK Cursive but there are hundreds of suitable fonts out there which will work well.

Create a new layer for your text - I like to make my text as a vector so that I can enlarge and drag around my layout easily.

Type in your text using any shade of grey that you like.

Now rasterise your text layer - do this by going to Layers- convert to raster.

Select your text - you can do this by clicking anywhere inside your text and then SELECTIONS - MODIFY- SELECT SIMILAR- If all the text isnt selected hold the shift key down and use the magic wand to select additional parts of the text which arent selected.

Alternatively select outside your text - hold the shift key down and then select inside any loops - then SELECTIONS - INVERT.

With your text selected click on EFFECTS- flaming pear- superblade pro.

It will open in a new window.

Choose a nice metal preset by clicking on the top little cd with an arrow next to it as circled in the above image

You will get a menu with various presets to try - I like the one called Chrome.

Click on the file name to select that preset - then click ok on the blade pro menu.

Now you have lovely chrome wire text -

Just add a small drop shadow to add some more dimension

With the text still selected go to EFFECTS- 3D EFFECTS - DROP SHADOW

and use settings similar to these below

(Offset - vertical and horizontal - 6

Opacity - 83

Blur - 8.66

Colour black

And there you have your text completed.

Easy, wasn't it?
