Bunny Paper Piecing Mat Frame

This cute little guy is a perfect addition to any Easter or bunny page. His paws are glued only on the edges so you can put a photo under them. Or use this for your journaling or title.

Supplies:

Bunny Paper Piecing Pattern (see below)
Off-white cardstock (I used a speckled off-white cardstock... this is for the bunny, so feel free to use any color you want for your bunny)
Bright pink cardstock
Black cardstock
Temporary adhesives
Permanent adhesives
Scissors
Fine point black pen
Chalks
Matting and patterned cardstock of your choice

 
Instructions:

1. Print the Bunny Paper Piecing pattern on plain paper.

2. Rough cut each piece of the pattern from the printout.

3. Using a temporary adhesive, adhere the head, large ears and paws to the off-white cardstock and the triangle nose and small ears to the pink cardstock.

4. Cut each piece out following the pattern lines. Watch for the pieces for which you need more than one piece cut.

5. Mount each piece on black cardstock and cut, leaving about 1/8" of the black edge.

6. Cut two long VERY THIN 4" strips of brown or black cardstock. Make an X with them and adhere them to the face as shown.

7. Mount the nose on top of the whiskers.

8. Draw on the eyes (or use a circle or oval punch to make eyes or use googly eyes, your choice) and the mouth under the nose.

9. Use pink chalk to make cheeks on either side of the mouth.

10. Use brown chalk along the top right and right side of the large off-white ears to make a shadow.

11. Use black or dark grey chalk along the top right and right side of the pink ears to make a shadow.

12. Cut one piece of 5.5" x 4.5" pastel cardstock, any color.

13. Cut one piece of 5.25" x 4.25" patterned paper to coordinate with the cardstock and mount on to the cardstock.

14. Cut one piece of 5" x 4" white cardstock and mount on top.

15. Mount the bunny head by about a half-inch to the top center of the mat.

16. Mount two paws on either side of the head.

17. Mount the other two paws at the bottom.
