Split Negative Embossing

supplies:
rubber stamp (bold images work best)
versamark or other clear embossing ink
black cardstock
white cardstock
black embossing powder
white embossing powder
heat gun

1. Measure the size of your rubber stamp image and add 1/2" on each side to this measurement.
2. Cut a piece of black carstock and a piece of white cardstock half the size of the measurement you obtained in step one. For example, if your image is 2.5" x 2.5", your measurement in step one would be 3" x 3" and you would need one piece of black cardstock measuring 1.5" x 3" and one piece of white cardstock measuring 1.5" x 3".
3. Place the edges of the cardstock pieces together, side by side, without overlapping. If desired, use the very edge of post-it notes to hold the pieces in place.

4. Ink the stamp with embossing ink and stamp the image centered on the black and white cardstock pieces.

5. Carefully separate the two cardstock pieces and sprinkle with embossing powder: white powder on the black cardstock and black powder on the white cardstock.

6. Heat emboss the images until the powder melts.
7. Reassmble the black and white pieces to use on the progject of your choice: tags, cards, scrapbook borders, titles, etc.
