1.  Open a file.  File>New.  We are going to make this particular one 200 pixels X 115 pixels.

#1

2.  Add anything that you want to say or image on the bottom layer.  This will be the first image to be seen in the animation.  On my animation I'm adding a picture of my family.

#2

3.  Now create another layer on top of your base layer.  You can add another image or text.  On mine I created text and I merged it with a white background to create just a layer with text on it.

4.  You can create however many layers that you want to animate.  On mine, I created 7 layers.  Meaning that I will have 7 different images in my animation.

#4

5.  Once you have it all the way that you want it to show, click on File>Save for Web.  The following window should open for you.

#5

6.  Arrow #1 points to the Animate Box which you should click to check.  Arrow #2 points to the Loop Box which you should also click to check.  And Arrow #3 points to the number of seconds that you want to show each image for.  I find that anywhere between 1 and 2, for my type of image, works fine.  But you can play around with it until you find a time lapse that suits you. Once you are satisfied with it, click on OK at the top right of the window.  Now just find a place to save it and you are done.

To create blinkies, just play with the different positions of your blinkies around the outer edges.  Basically you just have to create two layers for that...one with the blinkies in one position and the other with the blinkies in a different position.  Here is my animation...it is a little simple, but you can get as creative as you want, let your imagination run wild.
