Chalk popping is a wonderful technique to use if you have a small collection of stamp pads. By using your pallet of chalks you will have a wide variety of color options for your stamped images. This technique is also one of many ways that you can use your versamark stamp pad.
Supplies Needed:
Versamark Stamp Pad
Chalk
Cardstock (Unknown)
India Black Ink (TAC)
Hello Seasons Stamp Set (TAC)
Acrylic Blocks (TAC)
Cotton Balls
First, stamp your image using Versamark. Do not be alarmed the image will be hard to see at first but it will pop out with the next step. Stamp straight down and pull your stamp straight up. DO NOT rock your stamp this will cause it to smear.
Next, choose a color that will compliment your stamp image and using a cotton ball apply the chalk directly to the image. You will need to use a little pressure while sweeping the cotton ball back and forth over the image for an even layer.
The last step is to adhere all your pieces together. Viola! You have used a simple technique and in return ended up with a wonderful project.
You can create an unlimited amount of items using this technique. This technique can be used in scrapbooks for background paper or embellishments. It can be used in card making, or on gift bags. The sky is the limit! Blending the colors in your chalk palette will also give it a whole new twist!
