Kelly - Utah Mountains

Description: A picture of Kelly when we were on vacation July 2001. This is from the Utah/Colorado area. I labeled the layout Utah Mountains, however, there has been some dispute since then about whether this was taken in Utah or in Colorado. Either way, we all had a wonderful time on our family vacation!

Can We Go Fishing?

Camel Riding

Description: The Summer of 1998 I took the kids to ride camels in the Kmart parking lot in Vicksburg, Mississippi. We had such a great time! The girls laughed and smiled the entire time, however, Timothy was a bit afraid and nervous at first. In the end, all three children had a blast!

Butterfly - WLS Journey

Description: On March 17th, 2000 - I had weight loss surgery (BPD/DS) to lose from nearly 300 pounds. This layout is the beginning of a story I am working on about my journey to finding myself. During the really hard times after the surgery (I nearly died), I used a focal point of inspiration in a story I had read about a butterfly and how the butterfly had to struggle to be strong. This explains my love for the butterfly and why you might see a great deal of butterflies in things I create. They have a very special meaning to me.

Beauty

Description: Ashley found this butterfly outside in the yard one day while she was out playing. She picked it up and brought it to me crying. The butterfly had a badly damaged wing and could not fly. Mama, do something she begged me. Knowing I could not fix the butterfly, I marveled at its beauty with her. Finally after she quit crying and began to laugh and smile with me, I picked up the camera to capture the beauty I was seeing. My beautiful daughter watching a beautiful butterfly.

Baby Laura

Description: I remember my Grandma Mary taking baby Laura and I to JCPenny's to have her photo taken. This was her very first professional portrait. She was 3 weeks and 3 days old here. Such a proud Mama I was! My Aunt Sue purchased the dress for Laura at her baby shower. Both Grandma Mary and Aunt Sue have passed on, but it is things such as this that make me smile and remember happy times.

Baby Ashley

Description: I remember when the kids were babies, I would grab the camera and simply snap photos until I would run out of film. I would end up with rolls and rolls of film, and no money to get the film developed. Finally, tax season would come around and I would take a big bag of undeveloped film to be processed. It was always so exciting to come back home with a bag of memories from the previous year! I am so thankful for all of the photos I took back then. I just wish that I would have had a digital camera during that time, because I would have SO many more photos!

Ashley in Pigtails for Kindergarten

Description: One of the joys of being a mother of little girls is being able to put them in overalls and pigtails! I loved getting to dress them up and put their hair in braids and pony tails. They always looked so cute! This is Ashley's Kindergarten photo, what a beautiful young girl!

Description: Ashley always loved having her photo taken. This time at the photographers was no different. I loved how she would laugh and ham it up for the camera. I am glad the photographer was able to get a more reserved, yet happy photo for this picture.

Description: I have always loved this photo of Ashley! She is all dressed up in her Christmas dress. I remember thinking she looked so much like a fragile china doll during this time in her life. Always a happy little baby she was.
