St. Patrick's Day 'Pucker Up' Card Tutorial

By Brandie Valenzuela
Design Team Member

Supplies:

One sheet light green cardstock
One sheet light yellow cardstock
One sheet green pattern paper (I used Karen Foster Designs)
One "Pucker Up" sticker by Shotz by Danelle Johnson (Creative Imaginations)
One cardboard slide mount
Drywall tape
Green acrylic paint and paintbrush
Green ribbon

Instructions:

1. The main focus of this card is the painted slide mount. To create the slide mount, adhere a piece of drywall tape on the front of the slide. With the acrylic, paint over the drywall tape. Don't worry about covering it completely as having small amounts of the slide show through will add to the design. Allow to dry almost completely and then peel off the drywall tape, which will leave the unique appearance you can see in the image above.

2. From the light green cardstock, trim a piece that measures 8.5" x 5.5". Fold in half to create a card that measures 5.5" x 4.25".

3. From the green pattern paper, tear a piece that measures approximately 5" x 3.5". Adhere to the center of the front of the card.

3. From the light yellow cardstock, tear a piece that measures approximately 3.5" x 3". Adhere to the center of the green pattern paper. Add the "pucker up" sticker to the center of the light yellow cardstock, tilting it just slightly.

4. Attach one piece of green ribbon to each side of the slide mount. Adhere the slide mount over the sticker. Bring the ends of the ribbon around the front of the card. Secure on the back of the front of the card.

5. Inside the card add the sentiment "...because today I'm Irish!".
