One sheet pink cardstock
One sheet coordinating pink patterned vellum
One piece light pink cardstock (can use scrap)
One button
Drywall tape
Assorted coordating fibers and ribbon
Large Heart Punch
Pink embroidery floss
Embroidery needle
Paper Piercer (optional)
Instructions:
1. From the pink cardstock and the pink vellum, create two identical tags. The tags
I used were created from an Ellison diecut (which measure approximately 5" x 2.5"),
which you might have in your local scrapbook store. If you don't, you can substitute
any other tag template or simply cut two rectangles to create your tags.
2. With the vellum tag in hand, tear off the top portion of the vellum tag. Discard the
top portion, keep the bottom part as this will be your pocket.
3. Lay your vellum "pocket" on the pink tag -- taking care to line up this vellum
piece on the pink tag. The bottoms of both should be even with each other, as should
each side of the the papers. Tags should be laying on a mat or other item that allows
some sort of "give" - such as a Coluzzle mat. A piece of corregated cardboard would
work well also.
3. With your paper piercer, punch through the vellum and pink cardstock at evenly spaced
intervals. By doing this you are creating the holes in which you will sew your pocket on
with.
4. Thread your embroidery needle with floss. Push needle up through the first hole of
cardstock and vellum (either side). Bring the floss almost all the way through, leaving a small tail.
Use this tail to tie the floss onto the tags. Continue sewing your vellum pocket onto the
pink tag. When you get to the last hole (opposite of where you started), tie off.
5. At the top of the tag, apply a piece of drywall tape at a slight angle. Turn tag over,
trim excess tape.
6. Using scrap of light pink cardstock, punch a pink heart. Adhere pink heart on top of
the drywall tape. Tie a piece of floss through two opposite button holes on the button you
have chosen. Adhere button to the punched heart, letting it lay slightly off of the heart.
7. Tie several pieces of fiber or ribbon through the tag hole.
